Frequently asked questions
How are Indonesia home loan repayments calculated?
Repayments use the standard amortisation formula: the balance accrues interest at the periodic rate, and a level repayment covers that interest plus a slice of principal. Early payments are mostly interest; later ones are mostly principal.
What happens when an interest-only period ends?
Your repayment jumps. Nothing came off the balance during the interest-only period, so the full amount still has to be repaid — but over a shorter remaining term. You also pay more interest over the life of the loan.
